"Calm Down" (Eczema cream)
Everything is a chemical. Everything has some chemical structure to make it whatever it is, a leaf, a plant, a human being etc etc.
We strive to keep away from any chemical that may cause ANY reaction at all to anyone.
Some people are highly allergic to some specific chemicals and should always check with their supplier of skincare for example that any agent they may experience a problem with is NOT present in that product.
Not all products that we buy in are clearly labelled as to the chemical make up of the product, and sometimes on further extensive investigation, it is possible to find that a chemical we wish to avoid has been added in some very small amount to base ingredient we use to make something with.
Once aware of this situation we work very hard to find another alternative source or better product. It is an on going process. Occasionally, the amounts of a possible irritant are extremely small and have not caused a problem for ANYONE thus far. However it is the desire of ANOUSTA PRODUCTS to be true to their word and produce excellent and superior products that we all need to demand for us as humans as well as the planet we live on.
In perspective we will often present our bodies with more of a danger by crossing the road, breathing in the polluted air in a town, drinking too much alcohol or eating bacteria rich food!
As stated below, TEA, DEA, and MEA do not appear to cause a problem in their own right but IF they combined with nitrites, often used as a preservative or present as contaminants, they create nitrosamines…. and then problems can occur. The trouble is thatt there is no way for us the consumer to tell from the label whether the product is nitrosamine-contaminated or not.
Below is a little more information about these chemicals but I suggest we remember that hold in perspective that Volcano’s throw out highly toxic ingredients by the ton every day, smokers breathe in over 400 toxic chemicals every breath and our cars pollute our lungs.
It is extremely challenging to live a TOTALLY pure life free from ANY TOXIC chemicals AT ALL.
DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine): These chemicals are used as emulsifiers or foaming agents.. These chemicals CAN cause allergic reactions, may cause eye irritation and cause excessive drying of the hair and skin.
DEA will be listed in the following ways:
- Cocamide DEA
- Cocamide MEA
- DEACetyl Phosphate
- DEAOleth3 Phosphate
- Larramide DEA
- Lauramide DEA
- Linoleamide MEA
- monoethanolamine MEA
- Myristamide DEA
- Oleamide DEA
- Stearamide MEA
- Triethanolamine
- TEA (Triethanolamine) Luryl Sulfate
- TEA (Triethanolamine) Lauryl Sulfate
- TEA (Triethanolamine) Laureth Sulfate

The ubiquitous triethanolamine (TEA) and diethanolamine (DEA) compounds surfactants found in a variety of shampoos and liquid soaps are harmless on their own. But when combined with nitrites often used as a preservative or present as contaminants they create nitrosamines, a class of compounds found to be carcinogenic and absorbed through the skin. Because there is no way for a consumer to tell from the label whether a product is nitrosamine-contaminated, its best not to buy products containing DEA or TEA.

Both allergic and irritant contact dermatitis can cause your skin to become:
- Red,
- Inflamed,
- Blistered,
- Dry,
- Thickened
- Cracked.
The most commonly affected areas of skin are your hands and face. Depending on the type of contact dermatitis you have, you may also experience other symptoms.
Allergic contact dermatitis
As well as the symptoms listed above, allergic contact dermatitis will also cause the skin to be itchy. It may take many hours, or several days for your symptoms to appear after coming into contact with the allergen.
In most cases, the area of skin which came into contact with the allergen will be the area which is affected. For example, if you are allergic to an eye shadow or blusher, your eyelids or cheeks may be affected. However, sometimes other areas of skin may also be affected, even if they did not come into contact with the allergen.
Irritant contact dermatitis
As well as the symptoms listed above, irritant contact dermatitis causes burning, stinging and soreness. Your symptoms will normally appear within 48 hours of contact with the irritant. Strong irritants may cause your skin to react immediately.
Irritant contact dermatitis will only affect the areas of skin which you have exposed to the irritant.
